Romanian inflation slowed to 14.5 percent in March
Annual inflation in Romania decreased to 14.5 percent in March from 15.5 percent in February, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Thursday.
Compared to February, consumer prices rose by an average of 1 percent in March. Compared to last December, the consumer price index in Romania rose by 2.3 percent.
Food prices increased the most in the last year, by an average of 21.56 percent, while non-food products went up by 11.06 percent and services by 10.83 percent.
According to INS data, the price of sugar rose the most, by 61 percent. Butter cost 38 percent more than last year
in March, potatoes went up by 36 percent, eggs by 34 percent, cooking oil by 32 percent, and milk by 30 percent in one year.
