More than expected flour price increase may come
This year there will be more feed wheat than mill quality – the professionals experienced as the end of harvesting is approaching. Wheat prices are constantly increasing, mills and bakeries are also making price increases, but not just because of rising raw material costs – Világgazdaság Online wrote.
The question is whether the total crop will reach five million tonnes as in the past five years, when it has always exceeded. According to experts, this year, five million tonnes will be available, but Lakatos Zoltán, the CEO of Hajdú Gabona Zrt. told Világgazdaság that he expects 4,8 million tonnes of wheat, calculated on 960,000 hectares of harvested area.
