PENNY will spend 3.5 billion forints on wage increases in 2025
PENNY Hungary will spend 3.5 billion forints on wage increases in 2025, thanks to which earnings will increase by an average of 7.8%. In addition, the range of benefits and discounts available to employees has been expanded, including the employee purchase discount.
PENNY Hungary will also pay special attention to its employees in 2025, and this year it will provide 3.5 billion forints to increase employees’ earnings. Following successful wage negotiations with the trade union, the salaries of manual workers will increase by an average of 8%, while the income of white-collar workers will increase by 5%, which is more than twice the average inflation rate of 3.7% determined by the Central Statistical Office.
PENNY is committed to providing a competitive and predictable financial background for its more than 5,400 employees. This year’s wage increase particularly affects two strategically important areas of the company: nearly 750 employees working in the logistics department ensure the continuity of the supply chain, while around 4,400 people in sales work on customer satisfaction every day of the week.
The wage increase is complemented by an expanding benefit package
The monthly employee discount increases by 15% and continues to provide a 10% discount in PENNY stores, and the funeral allowance for employees is increased by 87.5%. As part of the commuting subsidy, the company continues to cover 86% of the amount of local passes, and if you use your own car, you will receive a reimbursement of 30 HUF/km.
In addition to financial support, PENNY also pays special attention to the mental health of its employees. The company was the first in the retail sector to introduce an internal telephone help desk, which can provide employees with professional support in dealing with everyday challenges.
The company opened seven new stores in 2024, creating nearly 120 new jobs. In addition, special attention is being paid to the modernization of the head office, for which 400 million forints have been allocated. The investment aims to provide employees with a more comfortable, efficient and inspiring working environment.
