Netflix works with a retail chain
French supermarket chain Carrefour and streaming platform Netflix are testing a new subscription program together called Carrefour Plus. The pilot program is currently available in two cities, Rouen and Bordeaux, and is the first time Netflix has partnered with a major retailer for the subscription service.
As part of the program, Carrefour offers customers a 10% discount on all private label products, and includes a subscription to Netflix Standard for €5.99 per month. The supermarket chain justified its decision with its commitment to innovation and enhancing the customer experience. By partnering with Netflix, customers don’t have to compromise between entertainment and grocery shopping.
Carrefour Plus subscribers also get additional benefits, including free home delivery on orders of €60 or more. In addition, about 10 stores offer Netflix merchandise, such as figurines, t-shirts, mugs, bags and posters from popular shows and movies such as Stranger Things, The Bridgerton Family, One Piece and Rebel Moon. The distribution of the program will be influenced by the results of the testing.
