The credit portfolio of agriculture increased by nearly 7 percent
The credit stock of agriculture increased by 6.7 percent to HUF 1,036.9 billion compared to the same period of the previous year. Within this, the proportion of discounted loans was 69.7 percent, and the share of market loans was 30.3 percent on June 30, 2023.
The loan portfolio of individual farms active in agriculture decreased by 5.9 percent to HUF 381.8 billion. Within the loan portfolio, investment loans continued to predominate, although their portfolio fell by 9.2 percent. The bulk of the loans financed arable crop growers. The amount of newly taken out loans by individual enterprises active in agriculture was HUF 6.4 billion less than the value of a year earlier.
The loan portfolio of agricultural cooperatives increased by 15.7 percent to HUF 655.1 billion
The growth occurred in investment and intra-year loans. The livestock sector accounted for the largest share of the loan portfolio. The amount of newly taken out loans of agricultural social enterprises was HUF 28.1 billion more than the value of a year earlier. The guaranteed credit portfolio of agriculture grew dynamically. The number of leasing companies’ contracts and the amount of capital owed also increased.
