Three teams travelled from Hungary to the Shell Eco-marathon Europe competition in London, where they and another 168 teams were battling for energy efficiency: which vehicle could get farther on 1 litre of fuel of 1kWh of electricity. All three Hungarian teams – University of Debrecen (Faculty of Engineering), Kandó Kálmán vocational school (Kecskemét) and Széchenyi István University (Győr) – were using electric vehicles. The SZEnergy Team from Győr finished 4th in its category.
