The social significance of Hungarian wine is still overwhelming in the vineyard and wine sector
Last year, better quality wines were added to the Hungarian cellars, said dr. Márton Nobilis, State Secretary for Food and Commerce Policy, the Ministry of Agriculture, at the 11th Wine Conference in Budapest.
The Secretary of State drew attention to the fact that the proportion of domestic wines in sales in Hungary is more than 90%, and the government is saying that the proportion will remain in the future. He also mentioned that we are not ashamed of exporting, and we will continue to exploit further opportunities in this area.
Dr. Márton Nobilis emphasized that the government has provided nearly HUF 75 billion in support for the modernization of domestic vineyards over the past decade
In addition, he supported the technology investments of wineries for more than HUF 30 billion. This also shows that the government is committed to the success of the Hungarian countryside, including the wine sector. Therefore, the main goal is to make domestic businesses impact in the next challenging years, he added.
