Hungarian Bankholding joined the UN Responsible Banking Guidelines initiative
Hungarian Bankholding joined the global cooperation established by the United Nations (UN) and was one of the first domestic banks to sign the Responsible Banking Guidelines, the financial institution informed MTI on Tuesday.
It was announced: the goal of the international collaboration is to facilitate the approach of the financial sector towards sustainability. With this decision, the bank group wants to take another step in the direction of responsible and green operations. As part of its environmental protection, social responsibility and corporate governance, i.e. ESG strategy, Hungarian Bankholding aims to be at the forefront of the domestic banking sector in terms of sustainability. One step in this is joining global initiatives that plan to achieve real results.
They strive to achieve sustainability goals
With various tools and practical guidance, the UN helps the network of banks, insurers and investors to achieve their sustainability goals. Among these goals are the progressive reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, financial integration and other environmental protection efforts necessary to achieve future prosperity. Credit institutions joining the initiative undertake to comply with the provisions of their ESG strategies and to pay special attention to sustainability in their business activities. Since its inception, more than 400 financial institutions have signed these principles.
