Most student workers work in logistics and trade
According to the Prohuman Diákmunka school association, the average hourly wages of student workers are between HUF 1,700 and HUF 2,000 this year, but in priority areas, you can earn up to HUF 4,000.
In its statement sent to MTI on Friday, the school cooperative explained that the minimum wage for student work is HUF 1,334 gross per hour, and HUF 1,704 for jobs that require a secondary education. The national average hourly wage is higher than this, around HUF 1,700-2,000, the wages for jobs in Balaton are even more favorable, and student salaries in the capital are generally higher than the national average.
In addition to the nature of the work, the factors influencing the salary include professional experience, language skills, age, and how flexibly the student can take up work. A well-educated student in the IT or engineering fields can earn up to HUF 4,000 an hour, the announcement says.
Rozália Tóth, the operational director of Prohuman Student Work, highlighted in the announcement that most of them currently work in various factories, logistics and trade areas, in warehouse or stocking jobs, in administrative positions, and work in clothing stores, department stores and fast food restaurants is also particularly popular.
