Hand cream targeted primarily at the 60+ age group
According to data from GfK Hungária ConsumerScan, 28 percent of households purchased some kind of body care lotion in the January-September 2008 period. Sales were down by 5 percent in terms of value, compared to the same period in 2007. A drop of 10 percent has taken place in penetration. Hand creams were purchased by 14 percent of household in the above period. Consumers living alone, or without children, or living in Budapest, and housewives over 60 are over-represented in consumption. This segment showed stagnation. Regarding distribution channels, the body lotion segment was dominated by hyper markets and drugstores, while chains of small stores and discounts dominated the hand cream segment.
