Christmas fairs are not opened in Austria either
Tourism Minister Elisabeth Köstinger said hotels and catering establishments will remain closed until 7 January, and in addition, Christmas markets will not be able to open their doors. She justified the decision on the grounds that the risk of infection was most likely in such places. With this austerity measure, they are trying to avoid a re-rise in the pandemic curve and hope the planned opening on January 7 could still save the winter season – she added. (MTI)
