Sustainable brands are the future
More and more consumers are interested not only in the price of a food product, but also its ingredients and how big a burden its manufacturing put on the environment. This group of ecologically conscious consumers punishes those companies that manufacture without sustainability considerations in mind. Thanks to this, soon sustainable business operations will create a competitive advantage. Under these circumstances the role of organisations specialising in sustainability certificates becomes more important, and their responsibility is getting bigger.
GREEN BRANDS has been present in Germany and Austria since 2011. They entered the Hungarian, Swiss and Czech markets in July 2018. GREEN BRANDS evaluates the sustainability efforts of companies, using a system that was developed in Vienna by the Sustainable Europe Research Institute (SERI) and environmental consulting firm Allplan. Evaluation involves the environmental strategy of the company, its CSR programme, resource, water and energy use, waste management, transportation practices, etc.
Only those brands can earn the GREEN BRANDS certification that are granted the unanimous approval of the jury of sustainability experts. The organisation seeks to reward brands and products that place special emphasis on protecting the environment and nature, and by this to increase their prestige in the eyes of consumers and partners – because sustainable brands are the future!
