Good brandy requires dedication
For years, we have increasingly noticed that the quality of brandies is also increasing, which is very important feedback for us – stated dr. Olga Beáta Felkai, Deputy State Secretary responsible for food chain supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, at the award ceremony of the 2023 National Pálinka and Törkölypálinka Competition on Thursday in Budapest.
The deputy state secretary drew attention to the fact that quality consumption is what we should emphasize. It is the responsibility of all of us to shape attitudes and encourage conscious alcohol consumption. Dr. Beáta Olga Felkai explained that in the past the Ministry of Agriculture created the brandy law. However, in addition to the regulatory environment, the support side is also important. From the adopted KAP strategy, the ministry plans to open a new framework for the food industry at the beginning of next year. We are confident that the beverage industry can benefit from this, he added. The Deputy State Secretary positively assessed that such a long-standing drink and the related consumption culture are developing, and that the performance of the producers is also on the rise. I hope that the good working relationship between the Pálinka National Council and the Ministry of Agriculture will continue – he concluded.
This year, the award “Hungary’s best pálinka – 2023” was presented to the Beszterce Plum Pálinka of A Kövér Pálinkafőzde by dr. Beáta Olga Felkai.
