A meat-free diet may be associated with an increased risk of fractures
Followers of a meat-free diet may face a higher risk of fractures, especially hip fractures, according to a new, largest study on the subject to date.
The connection may be due to the fact that a meat-free diet contains less calcium and protein, and that followers of such a diet are often thinner and thus more easily injured if they fall, according to the scientific news portal New Scientist. (MTI)
