Every year, we throw 100 billion HUF worth food away
The Hungarian households throw 100 billion HUF worth unused and uneaten food away – theMinister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) said on Friday in Budapest, at a professional conference.
Zsigó Róbert at the opening event of the awareness-raising program of the National Food Chain Safety Office (NÉBIH) announced that on the basis of EU estimates about 1.8 million tonnes of food waste is made in Hungary each year. More than 20 percent of it about 400 000 tonnes are accumulated in the households. (MTI)
