The garlic-situation is getting difficult
Following a deplorable decrease of a decade, the fields for garlic production in Hungary have finally seen a growth in 2011, and the crop was around 5300 tons. This definitely is a significant growth compared to to the 4500 tons of the previous year. The quantity, on the other hand, has been subject to a significant decrease since 1997. According to recent research, in the BUdapest Nagybani Market, domestic garlic costs 30 percent more than in the previous year, whereas Chinese garlic has seen a decrease of price of 36 percent as compared to the previous year.
