Praktiker would open ten new stores
In the next three years Praktiker would continue its mini-store expansion in Transdanubian towns with a catchment area of thirty thousands inhabitants. The DIY chain renovated all of its department stores to open space to its new sales concept.
The Praktiker opened its first mini-stores in Sátoraljaújhely and in Komárom in Hungary on a test basis. The format – according to the sales datas, – lived up to the company’s expectations, primarily due to the domestic consumers. In Sátoraljaújhely one in ten, in Komárom one out of three costumers arrived from across the border, and paid with euros. The DIY chain has no plans to open medium and large stores in the next 2-3 years in Hungary.
