Digital future
In the last few years retail sales were expanding and this year the sales growth will be around 4 percent. What is more, sales in online retail surged by almost 30 percent. Gábor Pataki, president of the Sharing Economy Association told our magazine that a growing proportion of retail sales is realised via digital services. Online payment – especially with mobile devices – is gaining ground.
Mr Pataki is of the opinion that those retailers will be able to sell more who lead the way in analysing shopper data. Shoppers need to be served in a way that buying becomes more comfortable, a real experience, and faster. Home delivery and pre-orders are also important. The president also sees great potential in bitcoin. At the moment it can’t be told how fast new technologies will spread, but it is sure that retailers must adopt them. //
