The processing sales price of chicken legs rose by 15 percent
According to AKI PÁIR data, the live weight producer price of slaughter chickens in Hungary rose by 32 percent to HUF 508/kg, and that of slaughter turkeys by 38.3 percent to HUF 703.5/kg in the first twenty-eight weeks of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
According to data from the European Commission, the EU average price of whole chicken in the first twenty-eight weeks of 2023 was 265.74 euros/100 kilograms, which represents an 8 percent increase compared to the previous year. The price in Hungary rose by 30 percent to HUF 976/kilogram in the same comparison. According to AKI PÁIR data, the processing sales price of chicken breast fillets increased by 15.2 percent to HUF 1,982/kilogram, bone-in chicken breast by 9.2 percent to HUF 1,382/kilogram, the price of chicken breast (in total) increased by 15.5 percent to HUF 1,956/kilogram, and chicken thighs It rose by 15.6 percent to HUF 918/kilogram in the first twenty-eight weeks of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
