Buffet carts have raised the price of their products by an average of 30 percent in the past year
Businesses operating buffet carts typically purchase raw materials from small factories and primary producers, the prices of which have increased by 100-120 percent over the past year, and in response to this, buffet cart operators have increased the prices of the products on offer by an average of 30 percent, said the founder of Food Truck Show Hungary Kft. on Friday at the to MTI.
Zoltán Horváth – who is also the president of the Hungarian Street Food Association and the main organizer of the Food Truck Show – emphasized that the buffet cart operators strive for quality with their service, and in their pricing they try to find the psychological limit for which there is still demand.
High energy prices are also a challenge for businesses, which can be solved by installing a solar panel on the roof of the buffet carts and using the batteries connected to them to cover the electricity needed for the refrigerators to operate at night. Food Truck Show Hungary Kft. and the association work together to implement the idea.
