Bonduelle processes 175 thousand tonnes of sweet corn produced in Hungary per year
The Bonduelle Central Europe Kft. processes 175 thousand tonnes of sweet corn grown in Hungary and sells 95 percent of its products on European markets – the company told MTI.
The company’s three factories in Hungary (Nagykőrös, Nyírszőlős and Békéscsaba) purchases the food plant from 10,000 hectares, mainly from east of the Danube, involving 110 Hungarian partners. The approximately 175,000 tonnes of sweetcorn processed each year corresponds to 330 million cans. The company employs 450 employees on a permanent basis in its domestic factories, and 250-300 employees on a seasonal basis. (MTI)
