The Ministry of Agriculture negotiated with insurance companies about drought damage
Feldman Zsolt, the Secretary of State responsible for agriculture and rural development of the Ministry of Agriculture, held a consultation with the representatives of the insurance companies operating in Hungary in order to ensure that the compensation of farmers who suffered drought damage goes as smoothly as possible in the future – announced the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) in a statement sent to MTI on Friday.
Almost half of the territory of the European Union is threatened by drought on a historic scale. Hungary is also affected by this weather extreme: by the middle of July, the size of the areas affected by the drought damage notification exceeded 550,000 hectares. (MTI)
