Children’s toys under HUF 6,500 are the most popular at Easter
This year, the bunny will bring sweets, toys and storybooks to most places on Easter, based on recent research by REGIO JÁTÉK. According to its own sales data, Hungarian families leave an average of HUF 13,000 online and HUF 9,200 in person at the toy store during the holiday season. Favorite programs for young children include egg hunts, crafts and joint baking and cooking, and it turns out that splashing hasn’t lost any of its popularity.
Easter has arrived, the second busiest period of the toy market, when according to the market leader REGIO JÁTÉK’s own sales data, 5-6 percent of the total annual sales are fulfilled in just 1-2 weeks.
“Compared to last year, average basket values increased by 13 percent, which means that Hungarian families typically buy toys online for HUF 13,000 and in stores for HUF 9,200 in the weeks before the holiday. Due to the arrangement of supply chains and the normalization of transport costs, we did not implement a major price increase, yet it can be observed that Easter toy shopping is much more popular in our stores in Western Hungary”
– said Dávid Gyaraki, marketing manager of REGIO JÁTÉK.
