Shipments of smartphones fell by 8.7 percent in the second quarter
The indicator fell for the fourth consecutive quarter, and the decline was larger than the company had expected.
Earlier this year, the industry suffered from supply constraints and now from limited demand, said IDC research director Nabila Popal, who added that rising inflation and economic uncertainty have put serious pressure on consumer spending, and unsold inventories have increased in all regions. (MTI)
