The meat imports expanded by 84 percent
Mostly due to the bird flu the export of Hungarian poultry meat decreased by more than 16 percent in the first seven months of the year. Meanwhile, meat imports expanded by 84 percent to 42,000 tonnes, according to the data of the Agricultural Research Institute – Világgazdaság wrote.
Most poultry meat (22.5 thousand tonnes) was transported to Romania from Hungary, to Austria 14.1 thousand, to Germany 12.1 thousand tonnes were exported in the first seven months of the year. In imports, 10.7 thousand tonnes of poultry meat came from Poland, while 6.6 thousand tonnes from Germany and 5.4 thousand tonnes from Austria. (index, vg.hu)
