European Fresh Force programme reached 3.4 million people last year
In 2023 the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) continues the European Fresh Force campaign, which seeks to popularise fruit and vegetable consumption.

This is the last year of the programme, and our magazine asked NAK president Balázs Győrffy about the details:
“Last year we showed up in grocery stores again, so we could promote fruit and vegetable consumption at the places where people buy them. As part of the European Fresh Force roadshow, we served more than a tonne of fruit and vegetables for people to taste. We also made great progress with the programme’s Facebook page: last year the number of followers exceeded 10,000. I am proud to report that the messages of the European Fresh Force team reached 3.4 million Hungarians.”
NAK’s president added that the goals won’t change in 2023: motivating families with children, kids and teenagers to eat more fruit and vegetables, preferably those grown locally, and as many types as possible. The main goal is to get closer to the WHO recommendation, which is eating minimum 400g/day.
The programme also cooperates with chef József Bernáth, dietitian Lili Fülöp, TikToker Zsófia Jászberényi and Olympic track and field athlete Luca Kozák. This year gastronomy and food preparation will get a bigger emphasis in the campaign. Mr Győrffy added that once again they will organise the Fruit-Vegetable Hero competition – the application period starts on 1 April and ends on 7 June. (x)
