25 years in the vehicle fleet market
In the last quarter of a century Mercarius Flottakezelő developed from a family business into a key player in the Hungarian fleet management market. Managing director László Rónai-Horst reckons that the secrets behind their success are conscious growth strategy, good team work and unique service packages.
2020 was a difficult year but Mercarius increased the size of its vehicle fleet from 4,000 to nearly 9,000 cars by the end of the year. Managing director Róbert Koleszár told that in spite of the pandemic-induced uncertainties their operations continued as usual, because on a daily basis they could make decisions quickly and introduce measures at local level if it was necessary.
In the next 25 years Mercarius’ goal is to become one of the biggest mobility companies in the region. Mr Rónai-Horst explained that besides the expansion they must also keep track of the constantly changing market trends of the 21st century. Mr Koleszár added that one of the most important things in the corporate DNA of Mercarius is that workers aren’t only motivated by their salary, but also by an inner drive that gets them through the hard times. Mercarius Flottakezelő started out as a classic rent-a-car company in the 1990s and gradually developed into one of the biggest Hungarian fleet management firms with more than 9,500 cars. Mercarius’ services are tailored to the actual needs and budgets of their customers, and their risk-free solutions are very popular among Hungarian companies. In 2019 Mercarius was featured in the Hungarian Forbes 100 list for the first time, in the 49th position. //
