SIRHA Budapest again in 2026 – with the Hungarian Pizza Championship

On March 3, 2026, SIRHA Budapest, Central Europe’s largest food and HoReCa trade fair, will open its doors for the seventh time at the Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center. The event is a prominent meeting place for the hospitality, gastronomy and food industries, where the region’s most significant players share their experiences and present their latest developments.

One of the novelties of the 2026 event is that the newly formed Hungarian Pizza Association (FUPI) will organize the Hungarian Pizza Championship for the first time. The organization’s goal is to popularize Italian pizza culture in Hungary and bring the professional community together. The competition will be a spectacular addition to the exhibition program, which is expected to arouse the interest of both the profession and the general public.

The press conference for the SIRHA Budapest and Hungarian Pizza Championship will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Panificio Il Basilico bakery in Szentendre. The event will feature presentations by Gianni Annoni, founder and president of FUPI, and Szabolcs Szabadfi, host of Panificio Il Basilico and vice president of the association. The press conference will also feature speeches by Giovanna Chiappini Carpena, director of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and ICE Budapest, Ákos Bősze, head of METRO HoReCa business development, Gábor Ganczer, CEO of Hungexpo Zrt., and Klára Tihanyi, exhibition director of SIRHA Budapest.

According to the organizers, SIRHA Budapest 2026 will focus on sustainability, innovation and professional collaborations in line with international trends, while the Hungarian Pizza Championship will give one of the most well-known iconic dishes of gastronomy a new platform in Hungary.
