METRO’s turnover decreased in 2009
Last year, METRO Group’ turnover was reduced, particularly because of the negative currency effects. On the basis of the company's preliminary datas, the revenue decreased by 3.6 percent to 65.5 billion euros.
According to the analysts of ThomsonReuters; the operating profit decreased by 14 percent, to 1.9 billion euros last year. The world's third largest commercial chain begins an aggressive expansion in Eastern Europe and in Asia, to offset the decline of the "mature" markets – reports Világgazdaság Online.
