Soybean prices down 13 percent

In Brazil, the price of soybeans (FOB Paranagua) for the spot delivery term increased by $7 to $445/ton. In Ukraine, the spot market price of soybeans delivered to the western border was unchanged at $385/ton in mid-September. According to the European Commission, Argentine soybeans were traded for 398–418 dollars/ton, Brazilian soybeans for 427–448 dollars/ton, American soybeans for 396–409 dollars/ton, and Ukrainian soybeans for 385–390 dollars/ton between September 3 and October 15. According to AKI PÁIR data, the producer price of soybeans excluding VAT and transport costs was 152 thousand forints/ton (–13 percent) in the second week of October. On the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME/CBOT), soybeans were quoted in November at 370–378 dollars/ton, and soybean meal in December at 302–310 dollars/ton between October 6 and 17. Soybean oil was quoted at 1102–1135 dollars/ton (December expiration) at the same time.
