The euro area economy has continued to grow
Although the growth rate of the manufacturing industry fell to 14-month lows, thanks to the improvement in service industry employment, the composite purchasing manager index in the euro area was higher than anticipated in April, indicating an increase in economic performance, which is similar to the previous month.
According to the report of the IHS Markit, a London-based economy research institute, the Manufacturing Purchasing Manager Index (BMI) in the euro area decreased to its 14 month nadir, to 56.0 points in April from the 56.6 points in the previous month.
