Századvég: economic growth may be 3.8 percent this year and for the next year
Following this year’s favorable first-quarter growth figures, the Századvég Gazdaságkutató Zrt. has increased its previous 3.6 and 3.4 percent growth forecasts up to 3.8 percent for 2017 and 2018,
According to a statement sent to MTI on Monday, the growth in both years will be driven by consumption and investment.
The economics researcher has stressed that the increase can be up to 4 percent if external demand will be more favorable or the investments will be more expansive. Because of a worse agricultural performance due to adverse weather conditions or due to higher oil prices the GDP growth may be more modest around 3.5 percent. (MTI)
