METRO: nice and healthy gastronomy
Experts with METRO’s raw material trends already said early in the year that 2018 will be the year of alternative ingredients. This seems to be justified, as health awareness is an increasingly important element of consumer behavior.
Instead of refined sugars, low-sugar snacks have come to the fore, and the demand in the catering industry has increased considerably. Vegan, paleo and other alternative diets continue their conquest, and manufacturers and restaurants are also increasingly creative about alternative raw materials – according to METRO’s latest trend report. The diversity of domestic hospitality could be tasted at the METRO Gastronomy Days on discounted prices in nearly three thousand restaurants.
