Aldi Denmark Removes Plastic Screw Caps From Own-Brand Milk
Aldi Denmark has announced that it has removed plastic screw caps from its private-label milk and cream packaging. The move will help the company in reducing its annual plastic consumption by 25 tonnes.
Aldi Denmark’s CSR head, Katrine Milman, said,”By removing the plastic screw caps, we take another step in the right direction.” The retailer has also introduced a thicker and significantly more durable bag in fresh colours made of recycled plastic. The recyclable bag, which can be re-used several times, is a good alternative to single-use plastic carriers.
“It is important that we focus on reusing the plastic that has already been produced and recycled so that we do not fill the market with new plastic products,” Milman explained.
