There is a strong demand for sweetcorn in Europe
This year, about half a million tons of sweetcorn to be processed by the processors. With this quantity, Hungary is the world’s second largest sweetcorn producer after the United States. Syngenta said today at its Hajdúszoboszló’s professional event: the demand for sweetcorn is growing slowly but continuous on the continent, and the demand for super-sweet varieties has increased.

Syngenta’s sweetcorn presentation in Hajdúszoboszló is one of the most important meetings of the segment’s main players for years. As it was said at the professional event: this year, sweetcorn was sown for processing purposes in a larger area than last year, on a total of 35,000 hectares. Most canning factories and cold stores are trying to process as much sweetcorn as possible at full capacity. It is estimated that about half a million tons of crops will be harvested
