Vegetables in green packaging! – Eco-friendly solutions from Prémium Kert Kft.
Szeged-based fruit and vegetable retailer Prémium Kert Kft. started out as a family business back in 2010, and by now it has evolved into a group that sources produce from more than 100 family farms, located in three counties of the Southern Great Plain.
Prémium Kert Kft. is a supplier of the biggest retail chains in Hungary, but they also sell quality Hungarian vegetables to store chains in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.
The group was among the first to stop using plastic trays for peppers and tomatoes, switching to recyclable shrink wrap or paper. With this step Prémium Kert Kft. saves more than 10 tonnes of plastic every year. What is more, from this year they are using a new packaging material called Green Pack. This recycled paper packaging contains no plastic whatsoever – it is a biodegradable, eco-friendly solution. (x)
