Green light for SPAR’s new acquisition in Austria

SPAR Austria has received approval from the competition authority to acquire 23 Unimarkt stores, although the parties haven’t disclosed the amount of the transaction.

SPAR plans to retain most of its current Unimarkt partners. From the 23 stores 18 will ultimately go to independent SPAR retailers, who will offer a regional and international product selection supplemented by SPAR’s own brands.
