SPAR Croatia Unveils New SPAR City Format in Zagreb
SPAR Croatia has introduced a new store format, SPAR City, with its first location in Croatia opening at Jurišićeva 2a, in Zagreb.
Situated in a two-storey neo-Renaissance building designed by Croatian architect Jambrišak, SPAR City is tailored to the fast-paced needs of urban shoppers, the retailer noted.
This small-format store is designed for quick, convenient and easy shopping, with an emphasis on a modern and pleasant shopping experience. Eight full-time employees will manage the 200 square metres of sales space.
SPAR City offers a diverse range of high-quality food and other products, with a focus on fresh ready-to-eat meals, prepared daily.
These include salads, fruit-chia meals, skyr yoghurt combinations, and classic SPAR TO GO items, like focaccia, pizza and desserts.
Customers can also find freshly prepared ready-made meals, such as side dishes, stews, and grilled vegetables. Self-service checkouts are available for faster transactions.
The store’s location in the neo-Renaissance building, constructed between 1872 and 1879, was renovated in under five months, with approval from the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.
Investment
SPAR Croatia invested over €1 million in the construction and fit-out of the rented space. The retailer has installed a modern CO2 refrigeration system and energy-saving LED lighting throughout the store, to ensure energy-efficiency.
The SPAR City supermarket at Jurišićeva 2a is open daily, from Monday to Sunday.
SPAR is one of the leading retail investors in Croatia, with nearly HRK 400 million earmarked for this year. The company boasts an expanding network of over 20 INTERSPAR hypermarkets and 90 SPAR supermarkets, providing customers with a diverse selection of both original and SPAR-branded products, often sourced from numerous Croatian manufacturers.
