‘World of Private Label’ – Trade Show in Amsterdam
Europe’s deepest recession in over 50 years is leading retailers to bring new strategies to PLMA’s event, to be held 26-27 May at the RAI Centre.
Private label is now more important
than ever as supermarkets and hypermarkets expand their brand
offerings to attract value-conscious consumers and compete against
fast-growing discounters.
Traditional retailers are making big
investments in their private label programmes: Carrefour is offering
20,000 products under its own brands, Tesco has launched a discount
brand with hundreds of products, Real has introduced 850 items under
its new Real Quality brand.
These investments and the recession
open the door for even more private label growth, according to retail
analysts. Manufacturers from 70 countries will show their new
products and packaging innovations. “World of Private Label’ will
present more than 3,000 exhibit stands. The ‘World of Private
Label’ Trade Show floor is divided into separate food and nonfood
halls to help visitors make the most of their time.
On 25 May, the ‘World of Private
Label’ pre-show seminar programme offers industry experts
presenting the latest market research reports and analysis of trends
affecting retailing and private label.
