VOSZ: the three-year wage agreement is extremely ambitious
The Secretary General of the National Federation of Entrepreneurs and Employers described the three-year wage agreement as extremely ambitious at a press conference in Budapest on Monday.
László Perlusz said at an event held at the Carmelite Monastery that after last year’s “terrible inflation”, very modest growth is expected this year, and after two such difficult years, they were able to agree to increase the guaranteed minimum wage by 7 percent next year and the minimum wage by 9 percent. For the latter, they agreed to increase it by 13 percent in 2026 and 14 percent in 2027.
Melinda Mészáros, President of the League of Trade Unions, said that if the macroeconomic environment, GDP or average wage trends change, this agreement will be renegotiated and the necessary corrections will be made.
The three-year wage agreement was signed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, László Perlusz, Ferenc Rolek, Vice President of the National Confederation of Employers and Industrialists (MGYOSZ), Zoltán Zs. Szőke, President of the National Confederation of General Consumer Cooperatives and Commercial Companies (ÁFEOSZ-COOP), Melinda Mészáros, Imre Palkovics, President of the National Confederation of Workers’ Councils, and Róbert Zlati, President of the Hungarian Trade Union Confederation.
