VM: The melon inspections in July resulted in a 10 million HUF fine
The experts of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) imposed about 10 million HUF fines in July, due to irregularities detected during melon checks – Helik Ferenc, the Director of Special Affairs Directorate of Nébih told at a press conference in Budapest on Thursday.
The Director of the Special Affairs Directorate of Nébih told that in July the experts of Nébih carried out 271 investigations in connection with melon sales, analyzing 308 tons of cargo. During the checks irregularities were found in 47 cases – mainly tagging deficiency. This means 110 tons of melons. 14 percent of the disputed amount had to be destroyed. (MTI)
