VM: The anti-GMO policy is strengthening in the Central and Eastern European region
The anti-GMO policy of the Central and Eastern European region is growing stronger, mainly due to the Hungarian government’s lobbying and decisive actions – the Ministry of Rural Development (VM), emphasized in its communication, that was sent to MTI on Thursday, in relation that the Commission will soon decide about the authorization of a genetically modified corn variety, the 1507 GM.
This was done, because no decision has been made at the meeting of the ministers of the EU Member States. However, according to the communication of the Ministry of Rural Development (VM), 19 EU Member States have opposed the cultivation of maize varieties already. (MTI)
