Easter will be a watershed in retail
Holiday seasons are usually strong periods for retail, including Easter. This holiday is particularly important for retailers, because Easter traffic provides a fairly reliable forecast for the whole year, according to Auchan experts. And this has special significance now, in the ongoing competition to maintain purchasing power, which is why everyone is preparing for it with all their might.
Easter has always been considered an indicator by traders, which reliably predicts the annual turnover. There are, of course, influencing factors other than the general economic environment, inflation and consumer behavior, such as whether the holiday falls at the beginning or end of the month, or how far away it is from Christmas spending. This year’s Easter can hardly be said to be lucky from both points of view, since it will be at the end of the month, when the salaries are already scarce, and it is also very early this year.
“Despite all of this, we definitely expect an increase in the turnover in March, but at the same time, it can still be felt that customers are much more sensitive to prices than before. Promotions and special offers are also important for holiday products
– say the experts of Auchan Hungary.
