An increase in the delivery fee for U.S. food couriers is being investigated
Worldwide food orders have skyrocketed due to the epidemic, but the situation appears to have been abused by some providers. In the U.S., lawsuits are being filed against GrubHub, DoorDash, Postmates and Uber Eats because the indictment says customers now have to pay a higher shipping fee than before the pandemic – origo wrote.
Three clients filed a class action lawsuit in Manhattan Federal Court alleging that food courier services violated U.S. antitrust law during the pandemic and ordered restaurants to sell menu items at a higher price.
In addition, for orders placed on the platforms, 10-40 percent of the revenue is also requested from restaurants. (origo)
