GVH investigates special offers byMedia Markt and Euronics
Media Markt and Euronics’ promotional practices may have misled consumers, and therefore proceedings have been launched against their operators, the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) told MTI on Tuesday. According to the GVH, the cheaper products were previously offered only on a temporary basis at the higher, non-discounted price, so the discount can be misleading. However, the competition supervision procedure does not mean that Vöröskő Commercial and Service Ltd., which operates Euronics stores, and Media Markt Saturn Holding Hungary Kft., which operates Media Markt stores in Hungary, have committed infringements.
