A water-resistant dispenser won the design competition announced for SCA students
The toilet paper and the soap are simple products. However among some circumstances, they require extra protection.
The SCA's brands such as the the Tork hygiene products are involved in the Volvo Ocean Race competition, which is the world's toughest sailing competition. The extreme conditions of the race stimulated innovation. The SCA announced a global tender for students dealing with industrial design. The task was simple, but it was a huge challenge: they had to find a solution that keeps toilet paper dry even in wet conditions.
The winning entry was made by the students of the ENSAM University of Paris. The waterproof dispenser can be fixed in two different ways: with cups and hooks. The dispenser is made of lightweight, soft, impact-resistant plastic, and inside a silicone gel protects toilet paper from moisture.
