Vitamins from pharmacists and agents
According to a survey conducted by GfK LHS Healthcare and data from Consumer Tracking, consumers still regard vitamins as an important means of maintaining health, though sales have dropped in the last two years. The proportion of households buying vitamins has dropped from 28 percent two years ago to 21 percent. Pharmacies remain the primary distribution channel for vitamins but direct sale networks play an increasing role. Supradyn is the product most frequently recommended by pharmacists (34 percent), followed by Centrum (27 percent) and Actival (18 percent).
