Top chef to retire?
János Kaszás, owner and chef of Admirális restaurant in Érd has been among the first chefs to open a restaurant of his own. Admirális has been included in the Hungarian Top 10 compiled by Konyhaművészet magazine for nine consecutive years and voted into the “Stars of Hungarian Catering” on two occasions. The chef was also nominated by his colleagues as one of the most influential figures in the profession, in 2004. Admirális restaurant is up for sale now. The chef who has spent 35 years in kitchens feels a little tired. Regular guests are sad, but still visit the restaurant in the same numbers as before the announcement. The chef has promised to launch cooking courses for fans who miss his specialities and he also plans to publish a recipe book.
