The use of pesticides fell last year
Last year the use of pesticides dropped: the Agrarian Economics Research Institute (AKI) measured an 11 percent decrease in volume and 8 percent in value.
According to the institute’s analysis, the market share of insecticides was reduced by 20.2 percent, followed by other drugs (-14.6 percent), herbicides (-7.2 percent) and fungicides (-6.8 percent).
The use of pesticides is determined on an annual basis primarily by the weather of the given vegetation period and by the period of the infections and the appearance of pests, and their expected damage. (MTI)
