Livestock slaughter fell in the first quarter
Fewer chickens, pigs and cattle were slaughtered in Hungary in the first quarter of this year than in the same period last year – according to the summary of the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI).
A total of 23,000 cattle were slaughtered in the first three months of the year, down 1.2 percent from pigs to 1.115 million, down 8.2 percent from a year earlier. 46.3 million pieces of poultry were slaughtered in the first quarter of 2022, 18.5 percent less than in the base period. (MTI)
